About the Ducks

Three Ducks on a Roof is a home-based quilting business located in the village of Egmont on British Columbia’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. It is a sleepy little place during the rainy, short winter days but with summer it comes alive with the cabin folks and the many tourists who come from around the world to take in the scenery and walk the trail to the famous Skookumchuck Rapids.

In the summer of 2002, Three Ducks on a Roof opened its doors as a gift shop offering locally hand-made arts and crafts. Then, in December 2004, Three Ducks went online with its quilting website offering the wonderful Electric Quilt design software, fabric and notions. Now, with this shopping cart, Three Ducks on a Roof truly opens its doors to the world. We’re still operating the gift shop only this year it will be called Flapping Fish Gallery and soon it too will have its own website linked to Three Ducks. Some of the beautiful pottery and ceramics it will offer for sale can be seen on the cart’s fabric pages.

These Three Ducks e-commerce ventures would have remained a dream if not for the hard work and assistance from Wet-Coast Computer & Design. If you get to Pender Harbour, drop into their other business, Coast Video, and tell them Three Ducks sent you. While you’re there, rent a movie or two and buy some BC spot prawns. Yes, we wear many hats in these here parts. Of course, if you make it to Egmont, drop into the Flapping Fish Gallery and visit my quilt studio. Maybe by then, I will actually be sewing a quilt and not putting up another website!
